Cameron Mechanical Limited is a locally owned and operated diesel workshop in Gisborne. Cameron Mechanical started in May 2004 when Ken Cameron decided to take the plunge and leave permanent employment. He purchased a van, loaded his tools in the back, and was off doing various mechanical jobs around the Gisborne district. In June 2005 Ken bought the plant and stock of Eastland Hydraulics and began to offer hydraulic hose and repairs. As the demand for truck servicing increased the need for premises to work on these trucks was required.
